When the master of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stay outside. Saint Luke the Evangelist (Unknown date-84, disciple of Paul of Tarsus, author of the Gospel according to Saint Luke and the Acts of the Apostles.)

Reading of the holy gospel according to Saint Luke (13:22-30): At that time, Jesus, on his way to Jerusalem, traveled through cities and villages teaching. One asked him, “Lord, will there be few who will be saved?” Jesus said to them: “Make every effort to enter through the narrow gate. I tell you that many will try to enter and will not be able to. When the master of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside and knock on the door, saying, “Lord, open it to us”; and he will reply to you: “I do not know who you are.” Then you will begin to say, “We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.” But he will reply to you: “I do not know who you are. Get away from me, you wicked ones.” Then there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you see yourselves cast out. And they will come from east and west, from north and south, and will sit at table in the kingdom of God. Look: there are last who will be first, and first who will be last.
