Monday of the XXIX Week in Ordinary Time

Monday, October 19, 2026 Reading from the letter of the Apostle Saint Paul to the Ephesians (2:1-10): There was a time when you were dead for your crimes and sins, when you followed the current of the present world, under the boss who rules in this lower zone, the spirit that now acts in the rebels against God. Before we also proceeded like this; following the desires of the flesh, obeying the impulses of the flesh and the imagination; and, naturally, we were destined for reprobation, like the rest. But God, rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, while we were dead for sins, has made us alive with Christ – by pure grace you are saved -, has raised us up with Christ Jesus and has seated us in heaven with him. Thus he shows to future ages the immense riches of his grace, his goodness toward us in Christ Jesus. Because you are saved by his grace and through faith. And it is not due to you, but it is a gift from God; and it is not due to works, so that no one can boast. We are, therefore, his work. He has created us in Christ Jesus, so that we may dedicate ourselves to the good works, which he assigned to us to practice. Word of God of thanks, for his courts with hymns, giving thanks and blessing his name. R/. “The Lord is good, his mercy is eternal, his faithfulness to all ages.” R.
