Tuesday, November 3, 2026 Reading of the letter of the apostle Saint Paul to the Philippians (2:5-11): Have among yourselves the feelings proper to Christ Jesus. He, despite his divine condition, did not flaunt his category of God; On the contrary, he stripped himself of his rank and took on the status of a slave, becoming one of many. And so, acting like any other man, he lowered himself to the point of submitting even to death, and a death on a cross. That is why God raised him above all and granted him the “Name above every name”; so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven, on earth, in the abyss, and every tongue proclaim: Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Word of God Jesus answered him: “A man was giving a great banquet and invited many people; At the time of the banquet he sent a servant to tell the guests: “Come, it is already prepared.” But they made excuses one after another. The first one said to him: «I have bought a field and I have to go see it. Excuse me, please. Another said: “I have bought five yoke of oxen and I am going to try them. Excuse me, please. Another said: “I just got married and naturally I can’t go.” The servant told the master again. Then the owner of the house, indignant, said to the servant: “Run out into the squares and streets of the city and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.” The servant said, “Sir, what you ordered has been done, and there is still room.” Then the master said to him: “Go out along the roads and paths and insist on them until they come in and my house is full.” And I tell you that none of those invited will taste my banquet.
