First Reading
Reading from the book of Isaiah (30,19-21,23-26):
THIS is what the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:
"People of Zion, who live in Jerusalem,
you won't have to cry,
He will take pity on you when he hears your moan:
As soon as he hears you, he will answer you.
Even if the Lord gave you
the bread of anguish and the water of oppression
Your Master will no longer hide,
your eyes will see your Master.
If you turn left or right,
Your ears will hear a word behind your back that tells you: “This is the way, walk on it.”
It will give you rain for your seed
that you sow in the field,
and the grain harvested in the field
It will be abundant and succulent;
On that day, your cattle will graze in wide meadows;
the oxen and donkeys that work in the field
They will eat fermented fodder,
winnowed with shovel and rake.
In every high mountain,
on every high hill
there will be canals and water courses
on the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
The light of the moon will be like the light of the sun,
and the light of the sun will be seven times greater,
like the light of seven days,
when the Lord sells the wound of his people
and heal the sores of his blows.

Gospel
Reading of the holy gospel according to Saint Matthew (9,35-10,1.6-8):
AT that time, Jesus traveled through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and disease.
When he saw the crowds, he felt sorry for them, because they were exhausted and abandoned, "like sheep without a shepherd."
Then he says to his disciples:
«The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few; Pray, therefore, to the Lord of the harvest to send workers to his harvest.
He called his twelve disciples and gave them authority to cast out unclean spirits and heal every sickness and disease.
Jesus sent these twelve with these instructions:
«Go to the lost sheep of Israel. Go and proclaim that the kingdom of heaven has arrived. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
