Blessed is he who is not scandalized by me! Saint Luke the Evangelist (Unknown date-84, disciple of Paul of Tarsus, author of the Gospel according to Saint Luke and the Acts of the Apostles.)

Reading of the holy gospel according to Saint Luke (7,19-23): At that time, John, calling two of his disciples, sent them to the Lord saying: “Are you the one who is to come, or must we wait for another?” The men stood before him and said, “John the Baptist has sent us to you to say, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or must we wait for another?'” In that hour Jesus healed many of illnesses, ailments and evil spirits, and gave sight to many blind people. And answering, he said to them: “Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor are evangelized. And blessed is he who is not scandalized by me!
